Echo and  Jared saw The Death of Stalin. In 1953 after Stalin dies a power struggle takes place between his remaining officers in Soviet Russia. It is a darkly comic masterpiece by Armando Iannucci creator of The Thick of It, and Veep. It stars Steve Buscemi, Simon Russel Beale, and Jeffery Tambor with a surprise appearance by Michael Palin who you don't see too much of anymore. It is full of fun jokes, dark themes, and parallels to our current state of politics in America. In this review we try to delve into the film, give a little perspective and talk about things that elevated this film to be better than average. Please don't put us on any lists.
